Do you need some inspiration for your next adventure? Check out these amazing destinations around the world.

When it comes to choosing your next travel destination, a lot of people rely on the same old locations because they’re hesitant to step out of their comfort zone. But why not try something new? Here are five of the most exciting, intriguing and absolutely most underrated destinations around the world to add to your bucket list.

1. Queenstown, New Zealand

Queenstown New Zealand is nicknamed the Adventure Capital of the World, and it’s not hard to see why. The town’s Kawarau Bridge is home to the first-ever bungee business (or bungy business, as the Kiwis say), which was launched in 1988 and has been popular ever since. Its founder, A.J. Hackett, made history when he bungee-jumped from the Eiffel Tower in 1987. Thrillseekers can take their pick from bungee jumping, skydiving, or canyon swinging, where you launch yourself into mid-air and swing on a rope. If you’d rather stay close to the ground, there are plenty of watersports available for you to try. Queenstown offers whitewater rafting and river surfing which will give you a chance to tackle the waves, no matter what your level of experience is, while jet boating will take you through deep ravines and narrow canyons.

2. Botswana, Africa

One of the most beautiful parts of Africa—let alone the world—Botswana remains wildly underrated, despite the opportunity it brings for exploring its diverse natural landscapes and embarking on some of the best safaris you can imagine. There’s a plethora of wildlife to be discovered here in spots such as Chobe National Park and the Kalahari plains. Everything from elephants to hippos and lions to cheetahs can be observed (from a safe distance, of course) in their natural habitats, and it’s a sight that everyone needs to see at least once in their life. If you fancy it, it’s a very different idea for a family holiday.

3. Alaska, United States

Arguably the USA’s most underrated and interesting state, the cold climate in Alaska lends itself to a whole range of adventure activities, from ziplining past snowy mountain peaks to dog sledding through the forests with powerful huskies. If you’d rather stay on-foot then try one of the hiking or mountaineering expeditions, and don’t forget to wrap up warm. For the extra brave, there’s heli-skiing. A helicopter will drop you in the middle of the Alaskan winter wonderland so you can ski your way back down to the bottom of the hill, through previously untouched snow.

4. Paros, Greece

A summer holiday in Greece is often spent relaxing by the beach, so if you like to be beside the coast when you go on holiday, Paros is the place to be. You’ll be able to try practically any watersport you can think of, whether you want to dive to the depths to see different species of marine life, or water-ski across the waves. Best of all, it’s a part of Greece that often goes ignored by tourists, so its unspoilt beauty is something you should discover before it disappears.

5. Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Dubai is the place to go if you like your adventures to feature a splash of culture. Hop in a 4×4 and take a trip out to the Arabian desert, where you’ll start with a spot of dune bashing, conquering the sandy terrain at top speed. Once you arrive at the camp, you can try your hand at sandboarding or quad-biking, or take a break to meet the camels and get a temporary henna tattoo. The evening finishes with a traditional Middle Eastern feast and live entertainment. Back in the city and still seeking a thrill? Try skydiving by the city’s famous Palm island for an adventure with a beautiful view.
